1/48 Scale – Fightertown Decals – Grumman F-14A Tomcat – VF-24 Renegades – Last Rage Part 1

This set provides two aircraft from VF-24 ‘Renegades’ circa early 1996. The aircraft are late service F-14A Tomcats with the revised gun door gas vents. This is the configuration recently rendered by Academy’s updated F-14A Tomcat kit. The two aircraft presented here are:

• F-14A-100-GR, 160669, NG/201, VF-24, early 1996, Squadron Commander’s aircraft
• F-14A-100-GR, 160669, NG/201, VF-24, Jul-Aug 1996, Squadron Commander’s aircraft
• F-14A-100-GR, 160689, NG/207, VF-24, early 1996

If you’ll note that 160669 is listed there twice. The first time as a normal ‘boss bird’ with the commander’s name on the rear pit and the XO’s name up front. In the second instance, Fightertown Decals provides the variation in markings that appeared in the Jul-Aug timeframe with the XO’s name replaced up front with Vice Admiral Frost’s name.

The color-printed instructions have good notes about the look and weathering of these aircraft as well as their typical loadouts. Just want the AMS modeler is looking for.

The decal printing is crisp and only a few of the markings are printed as two separate decals to ensure proper color and registration on the final product. Since these are Microscale decals, they will go down smooth and trouble-free on a properly prepared (smooth/glossy) surface.

We ship all items via Australia Post Mail. Customers in the Australia will generally receive packages by Australia Post tracked Mail.

Postage is calculated into 3 distinct weight AND volume categories being small, medium and large. Delivery confirmation/tracking is included with all domestic orders. You will receive an e-mail with the information when your order ships. It will also be noted on your order.

If you wish to use another method / carrier (FedEx/UPS/DHL), please choose “offline order” at checkout and contact us to work out the details. Please note that we do not have FedEx, DHL or UPS accounts and there will be an extra charge if we have to drive to the nearest office to ship the package. We will, however, gladly bill the freight to your account and call for a pickup.

Regardless of shipping method, we will ship to the address you list on your order in our system. Please ensure that the address listed on the order as “Ship-to” is where you want the order to be sent.
